In the 1930s, Alfred Vogel (1902 - 1996) moved to Teufen in the Appenzellerland. The naturopathic pioneer lived here, wrote his successful health books and began to produce medicines from fresh plants. Today, the A. Vogel medicinal plant show garden, the A. Vogel Museum and the A. Vogel publishing house are located here.
